Amsterdam Selects Thales’ Card Readers for Its Buses, Trams

Thales’ new card readers enable payment by mobile phone, bank card, credit card or QR code.

Thales was selected by GVB, Amsterdam’s public transport company, to replace all card readers in their buses and trams fleet.    These new card readers will enable travelers to pay by mobile phone, bank card, credit card or QR code.   GVB chose the latest Thales technology and offers to its passengers to use card reader equipped with built-in barcode and EMV functions.   In total, this new contract concerns approximately 4,000 card readers.    The replacement will start in ...
